Blinds

Blinds can be horizontal or vertical slats that tilt to open and close in order to let the light in or block it out. The slats are suspended by pieces of cloth, called tapes, or by cords. The slats may be tilted open/closed by using a wand or a cord for vertical blinds which is attached to the headrail. In addition, all slats may be lifted in unison to the headrail by the lift cords or pulled to one side or split in the center for verticals. Most people tend to think only of the aluminum blinds (sometimes referred to as Venetian blinds), however there are also vinyl blinds, wood blinds, faux wood blinds, and fabric INSULATED blinds in many colors to choose from.

“Faux” wood blinds are made of a composite material which is less costly than natural wood blinds, yet have the natural wood look. The faux wood is much more resistant to warping and fading, unlike the natural wood, so they are an excellent choice for locations where extreme temperatures vary, such as kitchens and bathrooms, as well as windows where there is intense sunlight.

Blinds CT can also be vertical. You can choose to have the vertical slats open from left to right, right to left, or from the center. Again, most people tend to think of the vinyl or vinyl with fabric vertical slats, but again, there are now some beautiful vertical “blinds” designed in fabrics so they truly look more like draperies than blinds.
